The 2010 recipients of
Dimensions In Performance honors are:
-
Rose
Award for Dimensions In Philanthropy – The Washington,
PA law firm of Peacock Keller will be recognized for its many
years of benevolence to the health system and other charitable
community causes. Attorney Jonathan G. Higie, managing partner
at Peacock Keller, will accept the award on behalf of the firm
which serves as legal counsel to the hospital. The Rose Award
is presented in honor and memory of Mrs. Rose Sweeney Melenyzer,
a longtime benefactor of the health system and other community
causes.
-
Pallone Award for Dimensions In Board Leadership
– R. Carlyn Belczyk of Monessen was elected to the Board
of Directors of Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc., parent company
of MVH, and to the hospital’s Board of Trustees in 2005.
She has been secretary of the boards since July 1, 2007. A certified
public accountant, Mrs. Belczyk is a partner with Randy Guthrie
in Guthrie, Belczyk & Associates, PC of Washington. The
board leadership award was created as a memorial to the late
Dr. Joseph J. Pallone, who served as a Trustee on the Hospital
Board from 1964 to 1985 and who also served on the MVHR Board
from its inception in 1982 until 1985. He was president of both
boards at the time of his death in 1985.

Staff at Monongahela Valley Hospital. A physician for 38 years,
Dr. Krishnan is a longtime member of the Medical Staff’s
Executive Committee and is currently serving his second year
as president of that group. Also a member of the MVHR Board
of Directors, he is a partner in Mon Valley Medical Associates,

the health system’s physicians and as a memorial to the
late Drs. Albert S. Sickman and Herbert J. Levin for their many
outstanding contributions to health care in the mid-Monongahela
Valley.
-
The Gibbons Award for Dimensons In Service for the Health,
Social and Civic Well-Being of Area Residents –
Dr. Angelo Armenti Jr. and his wife Barbara will be honored
for their active involvement in many community advocacy programs.
Dr. Armenti, president of California University of Pennsylvania,
has been a member of the Mon-Vale Health Resources Board of
Directors since 1993. He and Mrs. Armenti have championed myriad
programs in the Mon Valley and beyond. These include, but are
not limited to, United Way, American Heart Association and scholarship
endowments at California University. The award was created as
a memorial to Eugene Gibbons, whose legacy to the commitment
of health care spanned 55 years as an officer and member of
the board.
Dimensions In Performance awards were created in
1988 to recognize outstanding achievements to Monongahela Valley
Hospital and the health system at large. They symbolize the multi-dimensional
talents of special friends, benefactors and members of Team MVH
who have distinguished themselves in the areas of philanthropy,
board leadership, medicine, and civic well-being.
“We are very pleased to honor Peacock Keller,
Mrs. Belczyk, Dr. Krishnan and Dr. and Mrs. Armenti for their commitment
to our health system’s goals and ideals,” Louis J. Panza
Jr., president and chief executive officer of Monongahela Valley
Hospital, said. “They truly epitomize all of the qualities
symbolized in the awards they will receive.”
Gala 22, which is open to the public, will begin
with a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception at 6 p.m. Dinner
at 7 p.m. in the Allegheny Ballroom of the Westin will be followed
by dancing to the music of Pure Gold. Tickets are $150 per person
and tables of 10 are available.
