Senator Tim Solobay Tours Spartan Surgicenter
and Mon Valley Care Center

Pennsylvania Senator Tim Solobay joined representatives from Spartan Surgicenter and Mon Valley Care Center for tours on Tuesday, May 31.

This visit marks the first time that the senator, whose background includes diagnostic imaging and emergency medicine, has toured those facilities.

“As the largest employer in the mid-Monongahela Valley and the third largest employer in Washington County, Monongahela Valley Hospital and our affiliates play a key role in the economic vitality of this area,” said Patrick Garman, administrator of Spartan Surgicenter. “We are delighted to have this opportunity to showcase our progressive facilities to Senator Solobay and his staff.”

Located on Coyle Curtain Road in Carroll Township, Spartan Surgicenter offers technically advanced surgical procedures performed by physicians affiliated with Monongahela Valley Hospital.

Mon Valley Care Center is located adjacent to the Surgicenter for patients who are transitioning from traditional hospital care to long-term treatment and care. The center offers 60 skilled nursing beds and 41 assisted living beds for people who require less intensive care.

Legislative aid Debbie Bachinski accompanied Senator Solobay who was welcomed by Mr. Garman and members of Spartan’s board including and Philip Ripepi, M.D, Thomas Persico, DMD, and Michael Cushman, DDS. Also joining the group from the Hospital were Louis J. Panza Jr., president and CEO, and Daniel F. Simmons, senior vice president and treasurer.
