“Awesome” describes Monongahela Valley Hospital’s 33rd annual celebration dedicated to the members of the Auxiliary of Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc. which was held June 27 at the Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center. During the event, members of the Auxiliary presented two checks to Louis J. Panza Jr., president and CEO of Monongahela Valley Hospital totaling $90,000. When combined with the funds the Auxiliary donated to the hospital for its annual gala and for the Volunteen Scholarship, the Auxiliary’s 2011 donation totals $91,500.

“What I find so remarkable about our Auxiliary is that you so willingly give us your time and expect nothing in return — and you also tirelessly raise money to help the hospital provide a higher level of patient care,” said Mr. Panza as he accepted the checks. “We have a “wish list” of items to help enhance patient safety, and these funds will be used to purchase some new equipment.”

This year’s gift brings the Auxiliary’s total donation to the hospital to more than
$3 million during the past 33 years.
