Monongahela Valley Hospital and Local 8041
reach contract agreement

Monongahela Valley Hospital and United Steelworkers Local 8041 reached a three-year contract agreement that goes into effect July 1, 2011 and runs through June 30, 2014. Local 8041 represents maintenance, housekeeping, food service, clerical and technical staff — or approximately one half of MVH’s 1,100 employees.

“While salaries and benefits were the key topics of discussion, the one factor that never was an issue was the level of care that would be provided to the people of our community,” said Louis J. Panza, president and CEO of Monongahela Valley Hospital. “We all remain steadfast in our dedication to providing a positive patient experience to everyone who visits our hospital.”

Union members approved the agreement by a vote of 262-145.
