Monongahela Valley Hospital Receives Prestigious Gold Seal of Approval™

Have you been to Monongahela Valley Hospital’s website lately? If you have visited the site, you may have noticed the gold seal at the bottom of each page. Recently, MVH received the prestigious Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission.

Just as the Good Housekeeping “Seal of Approval” reassures consumers that a product meets its high standards, in health care, The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval is recognized nationwide as a symbol of health care quality and safety. The symbol tells the community that MVH is committed to providing the best care.

The Joint Commission awarded two Certificates of Distinction to MVH based on a review of compliance with national standards, clinical guidelines and outcomes of care. One certificate as for the

“Management of Joint Replacement — Knee”

and the other was for

“Management of Joint Replacement — Hip.”

Monongahela Valley Hospital provides a range of orthopedic care services, including treatment of injuries and fractures, general orthopedic surgery, knee arthroscopy, hip and knee joint replacements, foot and ankle, and specialized shoulder and elbow surgery. MVH also provides a dedicated hospital unit for recovery and complete inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services to help maximize function following injury or surgery.
