MVH INVITES LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL
STUDENTS TO ATTEND COACHES CLINIC

Wolfley Keynote Speaker
Where can talented young athletes learn
how to prevent sports related injuries through proper conditioning,
nutrition and fitness techniques in addition to health risk
information on tobacco avoidance and MRSA?
This information and much more will be available
at the Mon Valley Coach’s Clinic on Saturday, March
8 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Anthony M. Lombardi Education
Conference Center on the campus of Monongahela Valley Hospital.
Local area students, teachers, coaches and
parents are invited to learn from the coaches.
The Mon Valley Coach’s Clinic will
bring the latest in general sports, coaching and instructional
information to male and female Mon Valley area students
in grades nine through 12 and to those who interact with
them.
This informative day features keynote speaker
Craig “The Wolf” Wolfley - Former Steelers offensive
lineman, No. 73, and current Steelers Radio and TV Network
reporter.
Other speakers include
Head Strength & Conditioning
Coach Buddy Morris from the University of Pittsburgh and
his wife, Monica Morris, a nationally renowned athlete;
Anne Lail speaking on Tobacco
Prevention from Penn State Cooperative extension;
Slippery Rock University Tight
End Frank Cremonese who will discuss Strength Training After
Injury;
and Gene Belczyk from the Center
for Fitness and Health who will discuss Sports Specific
Flexibility.
In addition to the lively motivation, instruction
and fundamentals, the event is free to all area athletes
and their guests. Lunch will be provided and parking is
also free.
MVH medical professionals will staff informational
booths, while colleges and universities will provide information
on academic and athletic programs.
The event is sponsored by Monongahela Valley
Hospital, the American Respiratory Alliance, The Center
for Fitness and Health and Monessen Tobacco Free Coalition
is partially funded through the Westmoreland Drug &
Alcohol Commission through the Thomas Nega Drug-free Lifestyle
Grant.
