Shelly L. Farmer, who has extensive experience in assisted living care, has been named Executive Director of The Residence at Hilltop in Carroll Township, a subsidiary of Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc., parent company of Monongahela Valley Hospital.

In this capacity, Farmer, a Pennsylvania Certified Personal Care Home Administrator, will manage the two-story, 42,000-square-foot complex. The Residence at Hilltop has accommodations for 84 residents.

“Shelly brings a strong background to the residents and that of our assisted living community. Her experiences in administration, management and customer service will be a tremendous asset to The Residence at Hilltop,” Thomas J. Cullen, Senior Vice President of Monongahela Valley Hospital, said.

“We are confident that Ms. Farmer will advance the goals and programs at The Residence at Hilltop.”

“I am very excited at the direction The Residence at Hilltop is moving. I am thrilled to maintain the reputation of what we believe to be one of the most elite facilities in the region.” Farmer said.

“I am very proud to be a part of a fine organization and I look forward to the challenges ahead.”

The Residence at Hilltop combines housing, support services, personal assistance and health care to the elderly and others who need help with the activities of daily living but who do not require around-the-clock skilled care.

Most recently, Farmer served as Assistant Administrator for Weinberg Terrace, an assisted living home of the Jewish Association on Aging located in Squirrel Hill. Farmer also has extensive experience in customer and pharmaceutical service and sales as she has held positions both as a human resource recruiter and customer service sales representative.
