TASTE OF THE MON VALLEY AT MVH SHOWS INGREDIENTS FOR SUCCESS
A unique fundraising concept developed by
the Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc. Fund Development Committee
continues to have all the ingredients for success.
Some 200 persons helped emphasize that point
at the recent A Taste Of The Mon Valley celebration in the
Education Conference Center at Monongahela Valley Hospital.
Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc. is the parent company of
the hospital.
Louis J. Panza, Jr., president and chief
executive officer of Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc., expressed
“deep gratitude” to all who supported, attended
and participated in the event. He said their commitment
to and support of the health care system “significantly
enhance” the fundraising efforts of the Fund Development
Committee, which was formed to assist the Board of Directors
of Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc. with the development
and management of charitable contributions.
Ticket sales and donations for this year’s
Taste event accounted for an increase of more than $12,000
in the Fund Development account which includes money raised
during the event’s silent auction.
Sheila P. Hewie, M.D., an anesthesiologist
on staff at Monongahela Valley Hospital and a member of
the Hospital Board of Trustees and the Mon-Vale Health Resources
Board of Directors, is chairman of the Fund Development
Committee. She also chaired the Taste event.
Other members of the Fund Development Committee
are Panza; Mrs. Lillian C. Beattie, Ms. Carol Ann Doman,
William D. Hope Jr., V.M.D., Mr. David Hunter, R.G. Krishnan,
M.D., Mr. Anthony M. Lombardi, Mrs. Dorothy Paterline, Ms.
Karen L. Quinto, Mr. Daniel F. Simmons and Mr. Gerald C.
Smith.
A Taste Of The Mon Valley featured specialty
foods from The Back Porch restaurant, 2 Fine Caterers, The
Thompson House restaurant, The Inn at Lenora’s, Fratelli’s
Express, JEM’s, Keystone Bakery, Little Bamboo Chinese
Restaurant, Belle Vernon Holiday Inn/Tyber’s, The
Willow Room, Serendipity 3 Tea Room and Café, Shortbread
City, Salatino’s Pizzeria and Club House Grille at
Cedarbrook Golf Course. Featured beverages included gourmet
coffees and Italian soda from The Espresso Cafe and premium
Stoney’s beer from Jones Brewery.
Proceeds from the event will be used by
the Fund Development Committee for programs that benefit
patients and the community.
